Our Vision: Australia’s Leading Research Voice

We are launching a flagship Australian journal for counselling and psychotherapy to bridge rigorous research and interdisciplinary practice. Supported by the NHCPE, we aim to establish a citation-impact leader. We will operate independently for the first three years to build institutional credibility before considering commercial partnerships.

Research Scope

The journal covers:

• Core: Education, supervision, and counselling practice.

• Context: Practice-based evidence, Indigenous/culturally responsive practice, ethics, and trauma.

• Systems: Workforce development, telehealth, and training models.

Accessibility & Impact

• Diamond Open-Access: Free to read/publish, maximising impact for practitioners and researchers.

• University-Hosted: A lean model (budget AUD $10k–$25k) covering hosting and editorial support.

• Schedule: Two issues annually.

Join the Foundation Team

We are seeking leaders to define editorial policies and secure university hosting. Please share this call for EOIs with NHCPE members. We need:

• Editor-in-Chief, Associate/Methodology/Early Career/Integrity Editors

• Indigenous Editorial Advisor & International Board

• Senior Advisors (approaches welcomed)
