The National Heads of Counsellor and Psychotherapy Education together with Avondale University is inviting all those involved in the leadership of Counselling and Psychotherapy programs to join us for our first face-to-face get-together for a number of years!
This is an opportunity to meet with other leaders in our field and to discuss contemporary issues in counsellor education
Apart from networking opportunities, the focus of the day will be Benchmarking, and discussing possible collaborative initiatives
Special guest presentation on Benchmarking by Professor Kerri-Lee Krause (former Vice Chancellor & Professor of Higher Education at La Trobe University)- currently Provost at Avondale University. Kerri-Lee has published prolifically in the areas of teaching and curriculum, has both a national and international reputation and is the deputy chair of the Higher Education Standards Panel (part of TEQSA). Kerri-Lee will be presenting on the issue of Benchmarking
Finally, the Steering Group will be seeking support from participants to continue the work of NHCPE, and to ascertain future directions from them.
Important Info
Avondale University is situated in the village of Cooranbong, about 45 mins from Newcastle and about the same from Newcastle Airport. By train, it’s a 2 hr trip from Sydney Airport to Morisset train station (about 10 mins from Cooranbong). Avondale is happy to assist with transport.
Accommodation is available on campus as well as out on Lake Macquarie (15 mins from Cooranbong).
